have a force 90 on her. was trolling the other day when a loud warning buzzer sounded from under the drivers dash. i shut down motor but everytime i turned key to re-start, the buzzer would come back on. I decided to head to shore and in under a minute the buzzer when off. I resumed trolling and buzzer sounded again. Once again I sped up and buzzer turned off. This is the 1st time i have heard this buzzer since buying the boat over 3 years ago.

Anyone know what triggers the buzzer at low speed? Low voltage? Engine over heating? Would appreciate any assisiance. thx

It's an engine overheat buzzer. When was the last time you replaced your impeller in the lower unit? It may not be pumping enough water at lower speeds to cool you engine! If it's been over 3 years it probably needs to be done anyway!

impeller was replaced last year but i am questioning of it is working properly. very little water comes out at low speed or when motor it trimmed to go through the shallows. I will have it looked and and will check lower case to ensure it's topped up. someone told me it could also be casued by insufficient oil in the fuel mix but i ruled this out since buzzer goes off at speed.

thanks for the help.
