My 70hp will get up on a plain, run for a while, and then out of no where, shut down to half speed and then rev back to full speed. I believe this may be electrical and nothing to do with the carburetor. I am hoping someone on this forum will give me some info so I can fix it myself.

Re: '97 70hp

It could be either an ignition or fuel problem. When this happens try hitting your primer system and see if it picks up. If so,fuel prob. You can also use an inductive timing lite and hook up to each cyl when it is doing it. Look into the lite and see if it goes dead. This will tell you if you have an ignition problem on that cyl. Anyway, this is one place to start.

Is that a symptom of getting hot and going into SLOW mode; do you get any horn sound?

Semino17, you may want to start a new post. You will probably get a better response about your questions.

As I said in an earlier post, you have to find out if it's fuel or ignition. They can both act the same and sometimes it can be a fooler. After reading your post again I'd say you have a fuel prob if you have keep pumping your primer bulb to keep it going or else one hell of a fuel leak.
