97 7.4L fuel problem

So I will list the things I've done so far. I have replaced the fuel pump, Carb, brand new filter/water seperator,and new line from tank to filter housing. It idles great and will rev up great in neutral. Once its in gear runs great at low rpms. Once I get to about half throttle it boggs down and dies. I have to crank on the throttle a few times and it will run at low speeds most of the time (yes sea tow is a great investment). I also drained the tank and put in 40gals of fresh gas. I was thinking of hooking up a out board gas tank and see if it still does the same thing. The engine is on a early 80's 26.5 searay. It seems to be starving for fuel.

To be honest, this should have been one of the first test to be done. Separate the engine from the boat that way you know if you should be working on the boat or engine. It may have saved you some money from replacing expensive parts already.

Ayuh,.... Which leads to My questions for Csantino,....

Welcome Aboard,... Did ya Test anything, or are ya just throwin' parts, 'n hopin',..??

It sure sounds like it's runnin' outa gas,... Do the spark plug colors confirm that,..??
Have ya looked at the Ignition at all,..??
Is there fuel flow, 'n pressure at the carb,..?? What carb,..??

Did ya check the Contents of the old fuel filter,..??

There's the anti-siphon valve at the top of the tank that sometimes plugs, 'n the dip tube occasionally has a screen on it's end,..
But ya, a gas can, 'n length of fuel hose will eliminate the Tank, 'n it's pieces,....
