I was cruising the other day and some alarm went off and it lowered the RPM's so i turned it off looked around and realized my oil level was very low so i was not going to run it! so waiting there i yelled at a near by fisher man. who was very kind of enough to give me a quart of oil. so i put it in let it idle a little and it was running fine again went back to my house and put a gallon of oil in it. went on with my day to the island with some friends and threw out the day the same thing happened like 3 times alarm and lowered rpm's. i would turn it off and let it sit a min. and off i go again running fine so i don't think i did any real damage. but i could really use some help!!!! o and the oil the guy gave me was different from what i had if that makes a difference, both 2 stroke oil. PLEASE HELP!?!?!

When the motor slows down with an oil alarm, that means the boat's oil tank is not pumping enough into the engine mounted tank. The most common problem is a clogged or restricted oil filter screen on the boat tank which does not allow enough oil to be pumped. You have to remove the boat tank to access the filter.

Also check the bottom of the tank to see if there is any sludge or water present. Clean everything out if there is.

when the engine tank low level alarm triggers you have enough oil for 20-30 minutes of run time remaining in the tank.
what tachometer do you have?

can you fill or turn on the transfer pump with key on engine off using the manual transfer switch on the backside of the ECU?
