This is a newer motor for me and after buying used back in Nov. have had to 3 different mechanics and about 1300 bucks later, ( they did fix a few smaller issues)I still have the exact same problem I started with, here is the scenario, drop off of trailer, bulb is hardend, turn key, crank, crank, push in choke, starts with a slow idle, ( 600 rpm) barely running, I let set for at least 5 minutes since if durring this time, I give it any gas will stall and not allow for a restart for about 15 minutes, so I let it sit and barely idle hoping to get it warmed up, when all seems good, Ill put into gear, reverse and then it will stall when I give it gas, now im stuck with about 15-20 minutes of cranking and carefully choking since I dont want to flood it, and then on about the 200th try, it starts perfect, runs great all day, with 15 start/stop cycles, done this last 3 times out.
In last 8 weeks, replaced fuel line, bulb, thermostats, had idle set up to 800 2 different times, it seems to slip back to the 600 rpm, cleaned fuel sock, pumped tank dry, replaced gas, 2 times now, cleaned gas tank, replaced plugs, replaced the fuel filter, and also the water/oil filter for the offshore part, all 3 mechanics verified the fuel pump and oil mixtures are fine, on there tanks seems to work fine????? any ideas what left to try, Im gonna sell this sob as soon as I get it running good, ha ha, thanks for any help... Nothing like the 8-10 tourneys I have missed while motor has been on shops waiting lists or while in the shop, my season is shot but want to get it fixed before this season turns into next season....
