96 yamaha 225 alarm horn at low speed,not high rpm

Hi all this motor has a strong stream of water comming out back and oil in tank. what are the only reasons for alarms?low oil,overheating, and? low voltage?I think I read that in another post. Besides elect malfunctions. thanks

only thing the tell tale does is alert the operator that the pump is working, has diddly to do with is the engine overheating or not. what indicates light up on the tach and speedo?

Thanks for the info.It only sounds at low rpm,not high.

if you sure its an overheat alarm...
your pressure control valve could be stuck open. check it for debris.
it's also called a prv valve, poppit valve.

could also be a faulty water pump/wear plate, bad tstats or scaled water jackets.
