96 Mercury 150 Black Max Need Help

After Running @ 4000 Rpm For About 1/2 Mile The Alarm Will Go Off, We Shut The Engine Off Within 30 Sec Start The Motor Back Up And It Runs Fine With No Alarm. As Long As I Stay Out Of Top End It Runs Fine. Runs All Day @ 3800 And Below. Any Ideas ? Thanx !

Are you getting an overheat alarm or an oiling problem alarm? These systems do have different alarms and it's important to know which one is going off.
