96 Mercruiser 4.3 LX

I have been having trouble from my 96 Mercruiser 4.3 LX. It backfires and loses power. Also, I am getting 0 compression on the #2 cylinder. What would be some possible causes?

Bent valves, hole in piston....... Time to pull the head and find out for sure. Guessing isn't going to bring the compression back up.
