Hi, on my 96 60hp 2-stroke i can only get it to run one one cylinder. could this be coil?
(lets call top cylinder no 1).
i'll start it and it'll run, but when i take wire off no 2 cylinder no change in rpm or sound.
i additionally take wire off no3 plug, no change in anything.
i remove wire from no 1 and it dies right away, whether the other two wires are on the plugs or not!
Now, the interesting part. I remove wire from no 1 plug and then start it. it runs, but not quite as good when no 1 has plug wire attached.
then i'll attach the no 1 plug and it snaps right up and runs much better, but then when i disconnect it the motor stops.
so, for some reason, the motor will start and kinda run with only 2 and 3 plug wires wires attached, but won't continue running if i start it with all three plugs and then remove no 1.
wile running on the no 1 cylinder, i'll hold plug wires close to plugs 2 and 3 and see the spark gapping to end of plugs.

thoughts?
