Read through a lot of the forums and didn’t find anything that compares to my issue. Things I have done to this motor include. New non oiling VRO style fuel pump, rebuilt primer solenoid, new diaphragm in vapor separator check valve, new spark plugs (champion QL78YC, gapped to .034) fresh fuel/oil mix. Has good compression and spark. Rebuilt and cleaned all 6 carburetors. Now for what I have going on, took the boat to the shop for an assessment because I’m thinking about selling it but I want it to run correctly before I do. Top left carb as you are looking at the front of the engine was leaking fuel out of the overflow tube so I authorized another rebuild on that carb. Got it home, put the new plugs and fresh 91 non ethanol gas and oil in. Put muffs on, started it up and gas is coming out of that overflow again! Took carb off, took bowl off, everything seems in order, adjusted the float only slightly. Reassembled start it up and the same. All the other carbs appear to be functioning correctly. Motor is running rough, obviously that one cylinder is flooding out. What am I missing? I’m at my wits end with that one carburetor! Thanks in advance for any input.

When you have the bowl off look at the seat...does it have a gasket/washer? Some need them, some dont. If you see a raised washer like area where the seat screws in you dont use the washer. If not, you do. The only carb kits I can get to work in those are OEM kits. The Sierra kits lead to this issue.

I’ll look at that, I used OEM kits. I was wondering if there could be anything outside of the carb that may cause this?

Well, the seat area on mine had a raised area and a washer, removed the washer, checked the float and readjusted slightly. Reassembled, started and still have fuel coming out of the overflow. Could it be something outside the carb in the fuel system causing it?

The float and seat shut the fuel off...if it's still leaking out when you squeeze the bulb that's the issue. Unless you have warped carb bowls and its leaking there. Heavy float, improperly adjusted float height, improperly installed needle, etc...

if you have the carb off and the needle seat and float installed you can check operation before reassembly by inverting carb and blowing in the fuel nipple. With it upside down you should not be able to blow in.

Well I was finally able to get back to it, changed float, needle and seat (installed without the washer) FIXED MY OVERFLOW PROBLEM! Off to the water for water test! Thanks for the advice all!
