95 Force 40 ELPT - What's it worth?

Looking to purchase a 40 HP for 1987 Tournament V17 Tracker boat. Found a 95 Force by Mercury Marine, ELPT but, the guy wants $1,300. I see many other motors (Merc, Johnson, etc) going for that rate but, not sure if the Force name is worth this price range. Any retailers out there can educate me on the Force price range...

Also, does Mercury parts work in this motor?

Most parts are still available from Mercury.

No, a Force does not warrant the same price as the other brands in most peoples eyes.

If the Merc or Johnson is worth 1300, the Force is worth 1000.
