Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum and to repairing outboards, I was hoping a few of you could help me on figuring out the problem of why my '95 Evinrude 90HP does not have the high end speed it did a year ago.
Back then, I it would push my 17.5 ft alumaweld about 60 to 63 mph according to my Lowrance GPS. I accidently had a fuel mixture error where I mixed about 4 gallons of gasoline at twice the normal mixture (big whoops on my part). When I realized what I had done, I drained the fuel tank and put new gasoline with the correct mixture in. I have ran several tanks of gas though the motor since then and now the top speed is in the ball park of 50 mph or so.
I have checked the spark plugs to make sure they were functioning properly and that was not the issue, any other suggestions?
