Thanks to this site and a seloc manual first off, i can now yank the carb in and out in no time. thought i had this problem licked but I am stumped and cannot find a post with the same problem as mine. On the top cover of the primer system (on the side of my WMC carb) it has the little vent hole, my initial problem was fuel seeping from this hole. My motor runs fine it just leaks fuel at about one drop per second from this vent hole. I purchased a carb kit and replaced the diaphragm (old one was breaking down and sending little black rubber bits down into where check ball is located). I cleaned the area where the check ball seats and put the new part in and slapped on a new gasket. Put her all back together, she fired right up and purred but still has the fuel leak at the same exact rate from the vent hole. Now I suspect maybe the red check ball seat is worn and needs replaced but it appears to be built into the primer housing which is molded with the bowl. So Im unsure if I need to purchase the whole bowl because I cannot find anywhere that even gives the actual check ball seat its own part number, if indeed that is what is causing the leak.
The other half of brain cannot wrap around how fuel is getting above the diaphragm (being brand new) to even seep from the vent hole in the first place. Im kind of stumped and beginning to get nervous because those hickory shad will be spawning soon and I have 50 pound blue cats and stripers to catch with said shad. If anyone can give me any input I would really appreciate it. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Tight Lines
