Purchased this remote oil fill kit a year ago and finally got the nerve to drill out the hole to install it. So all I need is the hose from oil reservoir to the fill cap. I have some clear braided hose. Will the clear braided be OK or do I need to hunt down regular fuel line. It is 1.5" ID.My West Marine nor NAPA had this size . I have the clear braided type which I was going to use on a bait tank but did not will this be OK to use. It is 2 stroke oil not gas which will be in contact. Your replies appreciated.Thanks.

Just a thought about remote fills - they tend to collect water and let it into the system. Just be aware and keep an eye on it. Remember, the pump will move water just like it will move oil.

Will keep an eye on it. Any thoughts on the clear braided fill line?

It rained last night so this AM I went out and checked the remote oil fill. There was some water around it. It is not connected yet so I removed the oil fill cap and sure enough water around the cap went staight into where the fill tube would be. Thanks for the heads up. I will always be sure to wipe around the fill cap before opening. I hope the cap itself seals well enough when screwed down. Not such a great design on that remote fill kit although the instructions do say to mount it where it will not puddle water.

I've seen more posts about removing those fillers than installing them.
Maybe if you made a wooden wedge to mount it on, then water will drain away automatically and i'd make sure the inner seal is good and airtight.
