1995 Mercury sport jet 120hp(0E137433)
The boat has been sitting for 8+ years before I bought it to for a winter restoration project.
Upon changing the oil on both the stator and the main gear box, I noticed some clear water at the bottom of both collection containers. I had the boat out briefly this last year doing some test runs and I believe the water in the stator and the gear box are both from the shaft seals. The stator is already repaired but what I need help with understanding is the gear box.
More specifically, on how to drop the gear box so I can get at the horizontal impeller shaft gaskets.
I have no idea which bolts go through the engine mount plate to the gear box or if the gear box even needs to be dropped for access to these seals.
The seal/seals I’m trying to get at are on shaft 22 on the impeller side.(Not shown in the parts diagram)
