94 Merc Sport Jet starter problem

I have a 94 Renigade Sport Jet 120 merc 2 stroke...just had new stator installed and tuned up...ran great for two days...then stopped to clean intake and after about 20 minutes went to restart and just got a clunk...starter did not turn? I tried rotating the flywheel and it was ok...battery seemed low, so recharged it and tried again...still just a clunk...do you think it is just needing a new starter motor???

i have had the same problem with my 95 120 sport jet. i replace the start all the power wire and still had the the same problem. pull out your bottom 2 plug and see if they have wateron them if so your exhust gasket is bad and needs to be replace. this fixed my problem
