Hi, 94 Mercury 60 2-stroke has always ran great. Had it out 2 weeks ago no problems. Had the 3 carbs removed a few years ago and boiled out. Today when starting it was almost like it tried to flood. Then ran fine and we went 4 miles across the lake, smooth as can be. Got where we were going and got down to idle and it died. didn't want to restart. On the way back it ran perfect again at half throttle but would sputter and die if you pulled back the throttle, or pick back up if you pushed the choke (with the key) helped sometimes when trying to die if I pushed the throttle hard forward. Could smell gas a little bit. I always keep fuel additive in fuel tank. Got fresh gas today and noticed tank vent cap would not tighten up without clicking and loosening back up again. Any help would be great. Thanks
