94 Johnson 115 wet plugs

I have a 94 Johnson 115 HP that I had the power head rebuilt. I converted to pre-mix and deleted the VRO pump. The engine runs great, However the plugs are wet and oily. 2.6 mix per gallon. Timing 24degrees. Plugs aren't fouled only black, wet and oily. Compression is 120 all 4. Currently 50 hours on engine. Running Champion QL77JC4 plugs .30 gap. Any ideas on what the problem and or fix might be? Thanks in advance. Jim

2.6 mix per gallon? 50:1 is the Ratio, after Break In. A lot of engine makers would use 24:1 for the first 10 hrs. In the VRO engines, the first 10 hrs were using a 50:1 in the tank.\

Edit: 2.6 ounces per gallon. First time I heard 50:1 stated that way

Some state it at 2% oil.-----Or 2.6 ounces / US gallon.

I Know about the 2%, but had never heard of 2.6 oz/gal. Likely cause we used to mix gas and oil in 10 or 20 gal(imp) lots

Maybe check the carb idle mixture settings. It might be running too rich at idle so when you shut it off it leaves the plugs wet.

Maybe check that thermostats are in place and not stuck open ??---The 94 model V-4 crossflow does not show adjustable low speed mixture needles on the carburetors.----And the oily plugs might be normal with lots of low speed running.

Thermostats are fine, engine reaches operating temp and stays. No problem. Would going to a hotter plug be advisable?

Just curious, what brand of Oil are you feeding it?
