New to the forum and first post so hope I am in the right place. Just want to pass on some info that may apply to other year models as well. Just made a repair/rebuild on my tilt and trim system. Learned a few things the hard way as the climer manual leaves much to be desired. Remove the bypass valve and replace the O-rings(will cause leak down just like a bad cylinder seal) Had to take the cylinder apart 2 additional times as I ran across additional info on various forums. The top cylinder seal goes cup side up( not intuitive to me), One of the piston springs is silver and goes on the plastic relief valve. Seems as most have a hard time filling and venting so here is the way I attacked it and it filled and vented in a matter of minutes. Open the bypass valve to give the fluid a place to displace to when reinstalling the piston. Reassemble all components ie reconnect the piston assembly to the motor with the motor on the stop in the up position leaving the cap loose. Fill the cylinder with fluid and reinstall the cap. I made a fill rig similar to a brake bleed bottle with a clear line to be able to see when it was air free. Close the bypass valve and run the pump for about 15-20 seconds. Stop and let the air bleed back out. Repeat this until there is enough fluid in the system to move the motor. Cycle the motor up and down a few time and stop again to let the air bleed out. Repeat until air free. This may be all common knowledge to you guys but for backyard wrench turners such as myself it may save some frustration. Best to all.
