I just purchased a 92 Glasstream 17v fish and ski with a 98 Johnson 115 fast strike engine. The boat has a jackplate and 13.5x22p raker prop. With me and my gear and half tank of fuel im getting 53mph (gps)@ 5800 rpm. My question is this.... my prop shaft is set at 7.5" below the pad of the boat which seems a bit low to me. Does anyone have this same boat and setup that could give me some advice on jackplate setting that I should be running? I tried it at 4.5" below the pad and the mph fell to 49mph and the rpms went to 6100-6200 which is overrev for this motor. Any help?
