'92 650 Yamaha VXR Testing / Impeller Q's

Alright, so I'm "restoring" this jetski I bought.

I'm replacing the impeller. Is it really that important to use sealant when I replace the parts of the impeller housing assembly? It doesn't seem like i would need it because it screws together pretty tightly, and I have a feeling the yamaha manual only recommends it because it wants me to buy the "Yamalube #4" it recommends. If I do, what else can I use that will be gas / oil retardant, and also non-hardening? I think those are the properties it described.

Also, I may need a new impeller housing. Where can I get that?

Finally, on my ski, where can I attach the hose to test it on land?

you can get the pump housing with liner at www.sbtontheweb.com
and the tool for the driveshaft to unscrew the impeller,, remember it is a left handed thread.
