I have a 91 johnson 40 hp and the manual calls for the low speed idle adjustment of 2 1/4 turns from a lightly seated bottom. However I have to turn the screw out 3 turns as on 50 hp model to operate smoothly. Is it possible that the factory put 50hp carbs. on this motor? This is not a problem as motor runs great, but just concerned as to what I may have. motor model number indicates a 40 hp. Thanks as always, Bob
