Where is the model # located on this motor??

Hi, welcome.<br /><br />Should be a tag attached to the side of the transom mounting bracket. Have also seen then on the top of the bracket. I guess some older models had them inside the cowl, below the carb.<br /><br />Hp of motor?

Roscoe, It's a 70 hp.

Should be on the starboard side of the transom bracket.<br />Year and serial number should be on the tag.<br /><br />That is the first year that they started using the serial number as the identifying tool, so if you find the tag and serial number, you are in good shape.<br /><br />If you really want to find the model number, you can take the serial number and enter it into the Mercurypartsexpress.com website and it will spit out a model number.
