Can anyone tell me what the correct spec is for the flywheel nut?

Thanks, is that from a manual? I used to have an online one but its shut down now. Searching on the net people seem to say 140 ft lbs

I dont have any links saved. Just when i was searching for the info i found some comments on similar era johnson's that said 140lb. Also saw some that say 100. Happy to take your recommendations since 2 of you with a lot of posts have said 100lb is fine.

140-145 ft-lbs is fine on the V-6

Yep, unless you want to buy a new crankshaft, motor cowl, and everything else that get damaged when a flywheel is set free

I most certainly do not, nor do i wish to lose life or limb to an AWOL flywheel. Which i thought would happen with not enough torque. How does over torquing cause it to exit? shears the crank ?
