Hey Guys,
I have a 1990 force 90hp and just replaced the water impeller, i fired it up with some ear muffs and the majority of the water seems to be comming out of the lower unit through the drain holes just above the prop. the two holes half way up the motor where i thought water was suposed to come out, the water was barely coming out at best. I felt the water coming out the bottom and it was warm water so my thought that it is making through the motor. i dont know much about that motor so i was wondering if that was normal. when i bought it two years ago i had the guy fire it up and i remember it pushing more water out of the two holes half way up the "leg" where the water usaully comes out. Is this something i should be worried about and if so what can be done to fix it

thanks alot
Taylor

Re: 90hp force cooling issues

The main water dump is above the prop thru the snout. The two holes in the mid section are for the pressure relief.Your hooked to a hose so you won't get a lot of water. In the lake/river/ocean (profile)You have all you can handle.
There is a part called the pressure reliefe valve that when your motors running fast it opens and dumps the excess water/pressure out the two holes in the mid section.
Your motors doing exactly what it's supposed to.J
