1990 Sea-Doo SP, runs great for about a hour to hour and a half, no problems at all. Will start going dead, can get restarted, will run for about 5 feet then die again. Once this starts, it has no acceleration or pwer at all. Its got new plugs, new wear-ring, new impeller, and the water pump is putting out a good stream out the back.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Its got me scratching my head.

Thanks,
Todd

Re: 90 Sea-Doo shuts off

I've replied to a couple of threads about poor running Sea Doos and a Polaris in the past couple of days. Do the same compression, spark test that I recommend, and if those are good it's a fuel issue and with a 90, you definitely want to rebuild the fuel system. It's not that expensive and will make a huge difference.

If it is the fuel system, I believe the 90 has a round mikuni carb. You might want to look into finding a square carb instead. Works a lot better. Report back...

Spark at the plugs is good. The compression is 140 per cylinder. Fuel tank is clean. I'll remove the pump and carb, and got through them to see if its got any trash or bad diaphragms.

Make sure to check the internal filter inside the carbs.
