90 merc not running

Hey everyone,just found this group. Maybe one of you guys will have an answer for me. My motor, a 99 mercury 90, will start, run a little bit and then shut off. Then it will start right back up and shut off again. I'm not losing spark and the fuel seems okay. I tried to keep it running by squirting fuel into carbs... no go. I appreciate any help you can give.

Hi SlappyG: If you are spraying fuel strait in the carb then you must be loosing spark for a second. check for loose connections and don'tforget to make the Lanyard safety switch is on good.

It could also be flooding the motor due to stuck floats. when you start it look at the throat of thecarbs and see if fuel is flowing otu.
