90 hp mercury crank problem

I have a 90hp mercury 3 cyl in a 1995 bayliner jet boat. It was stored for 2 years and when I try to crank, the compression is too strong for the starter. I can barely turn it over with a pull rope. The starter turns it over fast with the plugs out. The battery is charged and connections seem good. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Oco

Re: 90 hp mercury crank problem

It sounds like it might be hydro locking on winterizing oil try pulling a little gas int the plug holes and turning it over - MAKE SURE THE IGN IS OFF AND THE PLUG WIRES GROUNDED - Then try restarting it
