90 HP Merc Sportjet Stalling on Idle

Tried the inBoard forum, and someone suggested trying here as the power head as a lot in common with OB's so....<br /><br />Have a Mercury Sport Jet that stalls on occasion when idling. Happens both when first starting, or after running for a while. After stalling, engine will not re-start for about 10 minutes. I am assuming it is flooding itself out. Any suggestions??<br /><br />Thanks

If you suspect flooding, check the float levels in each carb, and also the condition of the bowl needle and seat. Don't mix parts from one carb to another. You may also have a rev limiter problem. Disconnect the yellow/black wire (sometimes looks more black/yellow) from the rev limiter and see if the engine runs. If so, replace the rev limiter.<br /><br />good luck.<br />fp
