90 HP 4 cyl?

I bought a boat with a 2002 90 hp merc. I thought. I cn not find any reference to a 4 cyl, just 3 and 6. There is no serial number tag. Is there any other way to determine what I have?

Open the hood, there is a tag on the block near the heads on the left side. The factory serial number tag is on the mount on the right side near the transom bolts.

My 2003 75 HP merc is a three cylinder, the 90 HP is the same motor.

I'll check the block again I didnt see anything. The tag on th eoutside is not there. Nor is there one on the inside....any ideas?

Silly question, how many spark plugs does it have?

And how can you be sure it's a 2002 model if you don't have any model or serial numbers?

If you could post a couple of small pics, one with cover on and one with cover removed, it'll help narrow it down a bit.......ed

It has 4 plugs, The only way I know...or think its a 2002 is thats what the bill of sale said.
