I'm thinking of buying a 1992 Bass Tracker 2400 Party Boat with a Evinrude 9.9 H P motor. I figure since its already on the boat it does the job. I have not scene the boat in person yet, just what the ad says & pictures. My wife & I wantto get a pontoon, & this seems like a nice one for themone $2500. Thanks for any input

9.9? Must have been on a Pond/Lake that had a 10hp limit.

it's going to be slow but will move it. stay on small lakes, a strong wind could make it a challenge.

Second the caution regarding a 24' pontoon powered by a 9.9 in the wind.

A 25hp would be my lower limit....

thats a small motor for 24 ft, but it will do about 6-8 mph. you will have trouble handling/docking in the wind with that small of a motor

I agree. Cross winds can mess up experienced divers with several times that much power. Not that I'd recommend one, but I do see them.....
