Hi guys and gals?

If anyone has some insight that would be great. I was having issues with the motor only starting at high idle and stalling out at low. I took it apart and cleaned it out assuming that it was gum and varnish. However after a couple of attempts to retry it was still stalling out at low idle. I noticed that the little brass ball on the low idle compartment looks stuck? I think with the cap on there is no way for fuel to get in there than if not thru the ball? I removed the cap and installed and fired up right away. However there is too much fuel when throttled up obviously now. My question if anyone has an answer am I on the right track? Is it possible to fix that ball or do I need to buy a new carb? Thanks in advance!

There is a low speed adjustment screw located on the carb, check a parts diagram for the location. It is covered by a brass cap that with some fiddling can be remove, drill, pry, etc, be careful, don't mess things up. Adjusting it can help these small 4 strokes a great deal.

They are jetted as lean as possible at the factory and sometimes it’s too lean for it to run well. Junk can also get stuck in the very small passage way at the needle and cause it run even leaner.
