Motor runs fine if I use bulb pump to supply gas. If not then motor runs until bowl empty. Person that I purchased from told me he had this problem and had replaced gas pump. Is there something else that may be causing this? Or is the gas pump the problem? Filter in gas pump is clean. Thanks---Gregg

The fuel pump is drven by crankcase positive pressure pulses and slight negative pulses.---Check that out.----And a compression test MAY give a clue also.

that square pump is very reliable .

you can always rekit the pump but do ensure no air leaks (side connector) exists to suck air instead of gas. .

take off the pump and do a blow tests

air goes in to out no air from out to in

you do have the base gasket I hope

http://www.leeroysramblings.com/Rebuilding_fuelpump.htm

read instructions 3 times and understand it before doing the kit

start motor and pull the carb fuel inlet hose ....fuel should flow properly from the pump ( use a can to collect the gas for a minute while the carb fuel is burnt away.. if fuel to carb inlet is not flowing....work backwards .... make sure tank vent is open AND WORKING (pull the tank cap off if need be to test )

try a new hose, check fuel pick up in the tank or try a different tank and hose
