Hi Guys/Gals,
Well here i go, I have a 89 wellcraft that was not winterized with anti freeze the past 2 years and i live in Ohio ! My dealer ususally dropped the hoses and blew the motor out. Well trying to save $ I tried to do it myself. I started the boat last night with ear muffs, and I have a leak along the right side of the motor. I have to run it more to get a better Idea of where it is coming from. I looked at the oil and It doesnt appear to have water in it.
I know that if the block is cracked water will pour out everywhere from what i have read, but can you guys give me at least a starting point of what to look for, or can other things be damaged besides the block. The water appears to be coming from a piece attatched to one of the hoses, I made sure the hose connections were tight.. Also, will the motor pull water in using earmuffs ? i know merc has had problems with water re entry? Sorry if these questions are redundant, but I havent worked on the motor before, but now it looks like i have no choice, unless i want to do major damage to my Visa card. thanks.
