1998 120 force
I was ok with wot to start; I just was ready the idle it down after it started; it was dependable.
Then I developed an air leak in the fuel line.
Changed lines and clamps, new bubble, inline filters, water separator, and then the chock lines had a drip, so I soaked carbs in carb cleaner overnight. The carbs were sticky still, so I brushed and sprayed carb cleaner around and through jets and all.
I adjusted idle, cam, linkage, and cable. Now I'm trying to figure out what it wants.
Atm, I throttle up with a choke to flood it to pull down to half throttle to hope. After a couple of tries, it starts.
So then I trim the motor up to eas back pressure, so it doesn't bog. Then I get half speed. It's a 30' tritoon
. Now the idle adjustment screw is stuck, forever stuck, so I add a little length to it as needed—immense pain in mine.
STUCK!!!
Note put new plugs in. One of the old ones looked as if it never fired, and it was hot to hold after it had been running.
Then the other plugs had junk on them and were warm. Sent pic. Pulled plugs after running. The same thing, except the clean plug, came out of a different cylinder.
All cylinders have 90 lbs of compression. Pressure has been like that for a long time. Using L76v. champion

If your having trouble with idle? Good chance the port cover gaskets need replacing????
I never had to lengthen the idle screw.

The primer has a diaphragm, possible when the rubber hoses went the diaphragm went too??? Once it's running, pinch off the hose to the carb from the primer.

Well I pinched off fuel line on motor side of primer. I'm not sure what for or what was suppose to happen.
But I guess you know it died. So success.

Captcharlese if it died after ju pinched off the primer hose then the diaphragm in the primer is bad.

That's not the result I was looking for, the motor shouldn't have died??
It should have smoothed out and run right??
Check the fuel pump diaphragm?

Start the motor, spray starting fluid around the intake side of the motor.
Make sure it gets spray under the packs/coils and the bases of the carbs.
If that makes a difference? then it's sucking air somewhere.
