Hey good suggestion! Thanks!Different motor but I used a flywheel puller I got on loan from Auto Zone.
Thanks I might try that.I can't find the part# for the lift ring.
The 50 needs a smaller lift ring than the bigger motors.
I used piece of 1 1/4x 1/8 x 4"flat stock.
Drilled 2, 3/4" hole 1/2" from the end and then bent it 90d.
Then removed the flywheel nut, installed the new lift bracket, replaced the nut, then lifted the powerhead off.
Actually it was a harmonic balance puller but it worked perfectly. The three bolts fit. I used a torque wrench but a breaker bar would work.Hey good suggestion! Thanks!
Cheapo tools= crappy results.Just a hint here. If you get one of the cheaper pullers make sure you have a good fit for the bolts. Swapping whatever is in the kit for grade 8 bolts would be a good idea, along with grade 8 washers.
Also get a tap to clean out the threads so that you can get full engagement.
Don't take a chance of a cheap bolt stripping the threads out in the flywheel!
Ask how I know that this is an bad thing.
