89 Force 50 HP T/T not working properly

After having several issues with pump/motor o-ring I thought everything was ready to work. But now after adding hydraulic oil (synthetic ATF) to the oil chamber, my motor goes up... but not down. I have looked for a manual release valve, but my T/T apparently does not have one. I have two questions, was I wrong to add ATF in lieu of official T/T fluid, and secondly,... how do I bleed the lines without having a release valve?
Thanks, this old sailor would appreciate any help.

IF??? it's an actual 89/50 Force T+T it supposed to use 30w oil.
But it would probably work with any oil ????
You say the motor works up but not down, does the motor run and nothing works or does the motor not run??
More info?
If the relays click and nothing happens?? try switching the relays? Sometimes the contacts get corroded or just don't make good contact.
Like I said "MORE INFO" ??? please.
For the pressure release: on the Force system, loosen the front hyd. line. Be CAREFULL!!! high oil pressure can cause injury. It can also drop fast and hurt someone.

CLARIFICATION: The T/T motor works runs both up and down but the outboard motor goes up and stays in that position until I release a oil line on Tilt ram, then gravity will cause outboard to lower. Then I tighten the oil line and add more oil (outboard motor in fully down position), and tried the same thing over again. Same results, outboard motor raises up, then stops.

Sounds like air? Maybe run it up and down with the cap off a few times adding fluid to bottom of visibility.

I know it sounds like air, but the problem is I cannot run it up or down. The outboard only goes up then I cannot get it down without loosening the tilt ram oil line.

Check the wiring on the T&T motor to make sure it reverses rotation when pushing the, "Down" button. To confirm this, you can also try this: while in full down position (or at mid up/down position), push the "Down" button and see if the T&T goes up. If it does, then T&T drive motor is not reversing. However, if the T&T motor runs but nothing happens (neither up or down) it means there is a valve problem that is not shifting or O-ring that is leaking by.

Well, I solved my problem... I returned the motor and pump to DB Electrical. Supposedly they are going to refund me. Now all I have in an old original Force Presolite motor and pump. The reason I bought the DB one was I the Presolite pump has a leak around the first hydraulic pipe (UP port going to trim ram). Any ideas how I can seal the leak or get the pump repaired?

So what was wrong with the DB motor and pump? Like mentioned before, if the motor does not reverse you need to check the wiring especially on the relays. Reversing of the motor is accomplished through the relays and not necessarily on the motor itself.

Not sure what was the issue with the DB motor and pump, all I know it would only work when tilting the outboard motor up. When trying to lower the engine down, nothing happened. When I replaced it with an old leaking Force tilt motor and pump the outboard engine raised and lowered as it was supposed to do. So I returned the DB tilt motor and pump.
