I have a 1989 force 150. I am in the process of re-adjusting the linkage. Was wondering how high my Rpm's should go when i use the warmup lever? Last time i took it to the lake it would only throttle up to about 2000rpm. Is that maximum? seems to hit a plate on shifter linkage in bottom of cowl. Is that normal or do i have to do some adjusting? I have the shift linkage adjusted perfect. Also, On the top of the timing bar. There is a screw adjustment. i had to replace the plastic piece and i dont know how far to set the adjustment screw. Is that where i set the timing to 28 degrees btdc? Can anyone help me?

2000-2500 Is about what it should get fast idle. The linkage is adjusted when it hits that bar,Yours sounds like its doing right.
Yup reset the timing when you change the little black thingie.Get a Manual.J
