89 Force 125 flywheel

Does anyone know how to tell if an 89 Force 125 has a problem with the flywheel magnets? Can you tell if the magnet strip has shifted and does this ruin the ignition timing?

no, but u can take a screw driver and see if it "sticks" to the flywheel inside. if it does the magenets are good.

Boater Dude is correct. The magnets are integral with the flywheel and will not come off, unless forcibly removed, and the magnets will not loose their magnetism. Check your timing according to the manual, it is critical for proper running.
