I have a 25hp 1989 Evinrude e25tecem. It ran fine the first couple times out. Then coming back in one day it just started spitting and sputtering, if you gave it full throttle it would just fall on its face. I've replaced plugs, wires, fuel pump, coils and cleaned the carb. The only way it will start now is with starter fluid but it still runs like crap. Us there a way for it to jump time?

Just replaced the water pump. Haven't checked compression. But the video shows how it is running. At idle it stops. Just does it when you give it more throttle. Also fuel is 50:1

Sounds like throttle plate opens too early.

After the carb rebuild, what did you set the idle needle at? How many turns open? Believe it should be 1 1/2 turns from closed, but others might know better. Set it according to the manual.
