89 50 hp Force Lower unit problems

I have a 1989 force 50 hp motor and im having troubles with my lower unit I have noticed in other forums that other people have had the problem with water leaking out of one of the four bolts holding the lower unit to the motor leg is there anything i can do to prevent this. Also when i put my boat in my little tank im losing lower unit oil. If I remember correctly there was a white plastic piece in the water intake on the lower unit that is no longer there but can not find it on any diagrams to order or am i not remembering correctly? I believe that this is the root of main root of the leaking problems but am not all that experienced any advice?

if you are losing l/u oil this means your lower is not properly sealed. The little white piece you are speaking of is where the water tube connects to the lower. You can visit Crowley Marine and search your model number somewhere in their diagrams you should be able to find the parts you need or at least the original part number.
