Not yet, have heard stator starts to go bad and causes damage to pack so i wanted to test first to make sure i wont be doing this again in 6 months.

Found two shorted primary coil wires, taped up and seems to be running much better. Now every once-in-a-while when getting on plane from idle, will hesitate a little like not getting fuel. It also does not idle the best at times, probably not bad idea to rebuild carbs. I can deal with this for a while, too much fishing to catch up on.

well, two wire do not appear to be problem, started acting up again afte about 3 trips later. Talked to local evinrude mechanic and was advised they have an updated power pack and sensor that must be replaced together?? also sd must have special analyzer to set timing when replacing this sensor or i will burn up engine. Any body familiar with this repair. btw, when this happens it is missing again on lower port cylinder. also to correct myself the plugs were QL77JC4.
