thought i ran out og gas. got boat to dock pulled out and oil all over prop. took boat home ran on new gas tank and hooked the ears up and it ran fine and no more oil out of exhaust. thought i sucked something up in tank, pulled the sendind unit and tank was clean and filters were clean where did the oil come from. lower unit is still full.?

How much?These motors don't burn all the gas/oil.After a while the nooks and crannies fill up and then it comes out and makes a mess.If you were to drop the lower it will probably covered in oil.It usually leaks it's way out but the drains were probably clogged.
If this starts doing this a lot your fuel recirc system probably need cleaning.

While you have the lower dropped change the impeller.J

it all came out in a puddle about 1 foot diameter on the boat ramp. how would i go about cleaning the recirc system. is this bad for the motor to be building up all this oil inside. should i drop the lower unit just to clean.
