88 force 125 h.p. blue coils

i have a 1988 force 125h.p. with 2 black ignition modules and 4 black coils that i think i need to replace. is it possible to replace 1 or more of these parts with the blue ones?

Welcome to iboats. <br /><br />What are your symptoms? Chances of needing all new coils or both black boxes is ... well, you have a better chance of winning the lottery.

it runs fair for the first few minutes, a little missing at high end, but then the missing gets worse to were it wont even run past 3500 rpms then after about five minutes no more than 3000 rpms. let it cool down for an hour or so and same thing. tested ohms on trigger and stator they test ok.

You need the blue packs to go with the blue coils. The male-female connecters are opposite for each. You can use blue coils and ignition modules on a motor that originally had black ones and vice versa, but you cannot mix and match.<br /><br />What is happening on a spark test?
