Hi, I have an 88 85hp Force that needs cdis and coils. I just picked up 2 125hp units and was wondering if I can swap over the blue cdis and coils on the 85hp for the black ones on the 125hp?

Also, what is good compression for the 85hp? I bought it with 120 listed on all cylinders but I only get 95 on all cylinders. I am replacin g the reeds, retuning carbs, and hoping to swap the electronics. Timing is spot on btw,

95 PSI is low but if it is equal at all three cylindres it might be the gauge that is incorrect.

Nordin said it.
The test(you) was faulty, bad gauge.
You can change the packs and coils, you'll need to cut the ends off and use butt connectors. They say the blue and black shouldn't be paired together but I never had a problem.
The main difference in the 85/125 is the extra cylinder. They use most of the same parts.

WHY?? are you replacing the reeds?? If they aren't rusted shut?? then they should be ok. The 125/85 reeds are the same.
