87 V6 slow running

This is a minor pain but a pain nonetheless. In gear at about 800 RPM, runs fine. Above 1200, runs fine. In between at a medium trolling speed, rpms drop and it stalls. Takes a couple of attempts to restart. Fuel pump, carbs?

Possibly. Could also be an air leak in a fuel line somewhere. When it starts to stall, will the engine recover if you hit the choke?
