87 mercury not wanting to go?????

My 1987 mecury on my bass tracker is acting crazy. When it is in neutral or idling it runs great but when I put it in gear and give it the throttle it chokes it self down to idle speed again. I have checked the plugs and they are fine. I also changed the fuel, fuel filter. and fuel line and primer bulb. Other than this I am clueless. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions??? Please help fishing season is coming soon or its hear for me..... Ron

We might need a tad more info on this one, Ron.<br />Does the primer firm-up when you pump it up?<br />If not, does the performance improve when you pump it underway?<br />When it bogs down, does the primer ball collapse?
