87 cobra oll leak

hello ,i just noticed oli seeping out of my cobra drive,at the water intake ,by the bearing carrier.Looking at other posts it may be somthing that happens when the drive is left on over the winter. I hope its not a crack .I justed pu the boat and new it would need some worke . the drive has not been off in 3 years , the oil looks good ,its a bb ford 460 on 23 gulfstreem,very clean ,not into a cracked case But it it just seals i would give it a go thanks Jd

Leaving the drive on isn't the problem, that is how 99% of the drives in the world are stored during the winter. A leaky seal or _____(fill in the blank) is allowing the gear lube to get out.<br />Drain the gear lube, and do a pressure test on the drive. Use some soapy water to locate where the seal or _____ is leaking from.
