87 Byaliner Capri Transom question?

I need to replace my transom/ Looking for the best, easiest way to do it. Do I need to remove the cap or cut the back of the cap off? Do I go from the inside or outside?

Definitely inside. Popping the cap, while a pain, makes everything else much easier. Read any of the many fantastic glass boat threads going here right now to see what lies ahead. Good luck.

I have read many of the wonderful and helpul posts. I have not bought any books yet, but it almost seems to me it would be easier and more structurally sound to pull the cap before the floor?
