'87 90hp not runnig

My 90hp vro has been running fine for the first six times I have taken it out, but now it will not hold a low idle at a hi idle it will run for about 30secs than quit, and when i try to put it in gear it dies out no matter how fast i try to give it throttle.

Either one of the carbs is not functioning, or you lost ignition on one or two cylinders. When running pull the plug wires with some insulated pliers (lest the curl thy hair) and note any difference. Two top cylinders dead maybe carb or power pack, one dead, maybe coil on that cylinder. The most important thing to look for first is if you lost one ore TWO cylinders.

It's a four cylinder and we already had a power pack quit before so it is not a loss of cylinders, And the carb cleaning party is ready to begin at 10 am tomorrow. Also does any one know a good way to lubricate throttle cables
